Sometimes the Businesses you will be contacting will employ gate keepers to receive phone calls.  It’s the primary duty of a strong Telemarketer to reach the owner or decision maker.  Make only a brief chat with the receptionist and then ask for the boss of the company or the person that you think is the decision maker. As you are talking with the receptionist let her know you’re reviewing the company website and have a couple questions for the person that handles sales, like the Owner or sales manager, and you sounding more like a customer than a sales rep.   After several calls of practice using this technique, you will be able to capture the correct decision maker name and position of authority. Keep an upbeat attitude and have energy that sounds like you’re a buyer – you must convey a high interest of talking to the person who handles sales.
